Joe Rogan has long been an outspoken enemy of bullying – and a jiu jitsu fan. As such it was no surprise he discussed the topic recently when he had a chance to welcome Bellator title contender and longtime bjj black belt Rafael Lovato Jr. along with Justin Wren.
I think martial arts is gonna be a tool, so what we want to do this year is- is to get into a hundred martial arts academies with a bullying prevention curriculum. A lot of people don’t know that a hundred and sixty thousand kids in the United States alone – 160,000 kids everyday skip school, skip school because of bullying.
Rogan piped in: “Why I think martial arts is so important for young men- because I mean we know from our experience. In gyms when you’re dealing with like high level martial artists on a regular basis like there are some of the nicest friendly and f*cking people you’re ever gonna meet because they don’t have any insecurities.”
